"I have been so lucky with Pantanamlwg Free Gift, she has been with me since a wild rebellious three months old foal, always showing that indomitable spirit that has gained her so many rosettes in the show ring through the years. She has won many Championships and Supremes starting with Watford Horse Show in 1994 as a yearling when she triumphed against all the stallions through to Oswestry Show in 2009 winning the big cups at the age of sixteen. She has been awarded bronze and silver medals every year she has been shown and of course won Gold at The Royal Welsh Show in 2004 when she was Female Champion and presented to Her Majesty The Queen, much to my delight. Shown lightly under saddle in 2001 she was Reserve Champion at The National Pony Society Show, Malvern in a huge class qualifying for The Picton and Kingsford, just to show people she could do it in the ridden classes as well. I can honestly say that she has never let me down, always displaying her wonderful forceful action in the ring. She is a true professional, changing from a quiet mare, easy to produce to a show mare with attitude as soon as the white halter goes on. She has taken me to dizzy heights over the years winning so many accolades. Her progeny have done very well in this country and abroad winning countless prizes in hand and under saddle. I love to see Gift light up in the ring but it gives me a special thrill to see her trotting up the field here in Wensleydale, snorting with her tail over her back displaying that old magic that is simply just her.
